Little Forest Wool Applique



You will be learning the basics of wool applique, a variety of embroidery stitches, how to add beads and other embellishments to your project.  You will need to bring a few basic supplies to class.  Supplies can be found here:  Little Forest Class Supplies

Instructor: Kathryn Walmsley
Instructor Bio: Kathryn is an internationally know artist, designer, teacher, member and past president of the National Institute of American Doll Artists. She creates artworks which have been shown in museums, art exhibits and craft shows around the US and abroad. Kathryn teaches seminars and workshops for arts guilds, doll organizations, craft schools like John C. Campbell Folk School and extensively online. She has also enjoyed working with the Rural Alliance for the Arts and offering art enrichment programs for home school collaboratives. Her work has been published in numerous magazines and books, most recently 500 Handmade Dolls, Lark Books, NIADA Art Dolls, Rich Traditions, New Ideas, Handmade Dolls, Lark Studio Series, 2011, Textile Fiber Forum Magazine, May 2012. Kathryn creates one of a kind mixed media figurative sculpture and has a love of quilting and textiles, recently designing quilt and accessory patterns and translating her own figurative sculptures into subject matter for art quilts. Kathryn creates patterns and workbooks on a range of topics for doll makers, mixed media artists and quilters.
